THE SPACE BETWEEN
The Metta Project is creating an interactive art installation called The Space Between. The centerpiece of this installation will be a tent city, where each tent will recreate an actual living space of someone living in transition globally.
By stepping into a tent, you are literally visiting the bedroom of an orphan. Or the living room of a domestic abuse survivor. Or the tent of a refugee family.
This exhibit is also digital. We will feature the people who occupy these spaces through photography, video, storytelling and their own artistic contributions via mobile app. Here in this digital “space between” we will tell the stories of the individuals – their hopes, dreams, fears and losses. With technology as the storyteller, the exhibit will reach beyond borders while also subtly highlighting the important role digital tools play in transition.
